Chicago, IL–The Technology Affinity Group (TAG) which serves as the global association for technology professionals in philanthropy announced last week that they are updating their name to the Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG).
Since 2007, TAG has served as a non-profit membership organization promoting the strategic use of technology to advance the goals of the philanthropic sector. Originally an affinity group of the Council on Foundations, TAG has long provided a forum for education, peer learning, and networking. Additionally, TAG has led sector wide initiatives such as Simplify (now Guidestar for Grant Applications or G4G).
“TAG serves at the nexus between technology and mission,” says Nicolette Lodico, incoming Board Chair for TAG and Director of Information Management at the Ford Foundation. “Updating our name to the Technology Association of Grantmakers provides greater clarity about who we are and sets a north star for our work in the sector.”
“Throughout its 12 year history, TAG has served to enable and extend the mission of grantmakers throughout the world,” says TAG Executive Director Chantal Forster. “This brand clarification better positions TAG to partner with organizations in the field and more clearly communicate our work to steward, innovate, and extend the missions of our member organizations and the sector at large.”
The name change will be effective January 1, 2020.
