Philanthropy Tech Conference Returns to Sold-Out Registration

Oct 19, 2022

After a three-year hiatus, the annual conference for technology leaders, staff and solutions providers in philanthropy, hosted by the Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG), returns this November in San Antonio, TX. On Friday, October 14th, the conference sold out with record registration by global attendees. “Philanthropy tech has arrived,” says TAG Executive Director, Chantal Forster. “The pandemic built rapid awareness that modern philanthropy relies heavily upon technology to realize its mission, even more so as we strive to streamline systems and automate processes to make room for a more human-centered sector.”

This year’s event, TAG2022, is the largest to date and aims to provide 375 technology leaders, funders, and practitioners from private, family, corporate, and community foundations with the opportunity to reconnect and be reinvigorated in their work. Co-created by members of the Technology Association of Grantmakers, the conference agenda ensures that participants have ample room for knowledge exchange and thoughtful network building.

This year’s conference launches with provocative keynote sessions that explore technology’s role in advancing the future of philanthropy. On Tuesday, November 14th, Afua Bruce and Amy Sample Ward, authors of “The Tech That Comes Next” open the conference with a conversation about philanthropy’s responsibility to build a more equitable tech future. From artificial intelligence to community centered design, how can philanthropy help ensure the power of tech is used to close digital divides rather than exacerbate them? On Wednesday, the founder of the Responsible Innovation Project, Alka Roy will invite participants to break the cycle of dysfunctional innovation in her keynote and interactive workshop. The conference comes to a close on Thursday with a powerful panel featuring Candid CEO, Ann Mei Chang, that promises to ask tough questions about the future of social sector data.

The conference will be held November 14-17, 2022 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio.
